Fees

Fees are based on an hourly rate, which is $125/hour. Most appraisals require one hour for inspection and an additional half hour to research and write about each item. There is a three-hour minimum for all appraisals. It is not appropriate to charge a percentage of the value of the appraised property.

Sally will provide an estimate of the cost of an appraisal after determining the purpose and scope of the project and the date by which the report is needed.

Please contact Sally with the purpose for the appraisal, a description of the item(s) to be appraised, and a telephone number.

I appraise the following types of personal property:

I am not an expert at appraising oriental carpets, wine, cars, stamps, coins, rare books, musical instruments, or jewelry, but I can work with appraisers who are experts in these areas of specialization, refer you to such an appraiser, or direct you to the Appraisers Association of America where you can search for a specialist yourself. Click here to search for an appraiser on their database.

Will you appear as an expert witness at a trial?

No, that is not something that I do.
